The guardhouse is unfamiliar to most people. Throughout some of the novels there are quite a few books depicting prisons, but not many are dedicated to the guardhouse. And the real sense of jail is not in prison, but in the guardhouse. Prison is a place to serve a sentence of reform, the guardhouse is a place of detention, arrested and awaiting sentencing, in the twenty square meters of prison here, to stay for half a year or even a few years, is the real meaning of confinement, isolated from the world. The word "people" is framed as prisoners. The author is describing a group of imprisoned people.
